There is talks of Vonni being in the hybrid live-action/CGI Alvin and the Chipmunks movie

From the Independent Spirit Awards 2007:

"That's the thing that I like about this event: I really like seeing people that have inspired me," Giovanni Ribisi said. "It's the industry coming together and being able to shake hands and [do] whatever."

Brittany Murphy has signed with Jason Lee, Giovanni Ribisi, Jim Broadbent, Tim Roth, and Lili Taylor on Myriad Pictures' fantasy comedy, The Other Side, which will be directed by producer David Michaels and probably be released next year. Myriad Pictures will produce the star-studded fantasy that will be produced by Diane Isaacs and executive produced by Kirk D'Amico and will start shooting in Nova Scotia in November.

Vonni has been cast as a young Albert Einstein in an upcoming biopic to be helmed by Italian director Liliana Cavani.

"I don't know if I should say, but I will, finally, talk about it," Ribisi said. "Einstein. I'm going to be doing Albert Einstein, with Liliana Cavani, who did the Charlotte Rampling film from the 70s, called The Night Porter. It's great and the script is really great, and I'm really excited about it." Ribisi said the film will begin shooting "in July, I think, and there's another movie called The Stanford Prison Experiment after that." The Einstein biopic will be shot in Italy and in Barcelona and "at Princeton, of course," Ribisi said.
"It's a movie that focuses on his relationship with his first wife, Mileva Maric, and I guess it's from the inception of that relationship to the end of his life," Ribisi said, adding that the role of Mileva had not been cast yet. "It's still sort of at the incipient stage," he noted.
When a reporter asked, jokingly, if Ribisi's Einstein would be played as "twisted," Ribisi joked back
"Yeah, he's gonna be a weirdo, dude. Einstein The Weirdo. I suggested that, and they were like, 'no, just Einstein.'"

Christopher McQuarrie (a.k.a. the guy who wrote The Usual Suspects) will soon be making his own movie about the the 1971 "Stanford Prison Experiment,". The experiment involved segregating a bunch of college students into "guards" and "prisoners". According to Variety, Icon Entertainment has just purchased the international sales rights. Cast members include Giovanni Ribisi, Paul Dano, Jesse Eisenberg, Kieran Culkin and Channing Tatum. Production begins in October. They'll be shooting a good deal of the film at Stanford University.

Vonni recently gushed to Parade magazine about his daughter Lucia, 9. Giovanni said,

She’s a good kid and a really mind-blowing individual. Now aren’t I sounding like every proud parent?
Lucia was named after the heroine in The Donizetti Opera, Lucia di Lammermoor.

1.25.06 Giovanni and "CSI" star Gary Dourdan are joining the cast of the psychological thriller "Perfect Stranger." Halle Berry and Bruce Willis already have signed on to star. The film is set in the world of Internet intrigue, where Berry plays a woman who goes undercover both online and off to investigate a friend's murder. Ribisi will play Miles Haley, an IT wiz and hacker who helps Berry's character track the killer online. Dourdan portrays Cameron, Berry's on-again, off-again boyfriend. Production on the Revolution Studios project is expected to begin in the first quarter. James Foley ("Confidence") is directing.

MY NAME IS EARL (1/19/06 9 p.m., NBC) - STOLE P'S HD CART

CUBICLE LIFE - GIOVANNI RIBISI GUEST STARS - Earl (Jason Lee) does right when he returns a Pops' Old Fashioned Weiner hot dog cart, which he and Ralph (guest star Giovanni Ribisi) had stolen years prior. His good deed is undone, however, when Ralph, working for the competition, sets fire to the cart just as business is picking up again. Earl demands that the competing franchise owner pay the ten thousand dollars to replace the cart, but he refuses, sending Earl and Randy (Ethan Suplee) over his head to the corporate headquarters. Earl tricks his way into a job at the company and proceeds to steal office supplies in an effort to make up the ten thousand dollars. When he realizes that it would take the rest of his life to steal enough supplies, he recruits Randy, Joy (Jaime Pressly), Catalina (Nadine Velazquez), Darnell (Eddie Steeples), and Ralph to get jobs at the company as well to help him.

10/18/05 MY NAME IS EARL 9PM ep. "Teacher Earl" GIOVANNI GUEST STARS AS EX-CON - Earl (Jason Lee) is teaching English as a Second Language to cross "made fun of people with accents" off his list. When an old friend, Ralph (guest star Giovanni Ribisi), gets out of prison Earl convinces him to try karma, which works... for a while. Ralph ends up kidnapping Randy (Ethan Suplee) and demands he tell him where Earl is keeping his lotto winnings.

*Ethan Suplee who plays Jason Lee's brother Randy was still in school when Giovanni saw him in a play and encouraged him to pursue acting!

*Jason Lee dated Marissa (Giovanni's twin sister) for a few years and Marissa’s mother (who was his agent) submited Lee to auditions for commercials or sitcoms every once in awhile. He broke up with Marissa after awhile but Giovanni's mom Gay kept him on as a client and had him go on an audition for "Mallrats" which is what made Jason Lee famous!

Giovanni will voice KRY1, a member of Trane's Still Free Crew in the new game 'Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure'

10th & Wolf
Giovanni Ribisi, Brad Renfro and Piper Perabo also star in the movie, which is due in theaters next year. The $8 million "10th and Wolf" filmed in Pittsburgh for three months last fall. Among the producers of "10th and Wolf" is Joseph Pistone. He's the undercover FBI agent whose stories about infiltrating the mob inspired the 1997 movie "Donnie Brasco" and the 2000 television miniseries "Falcone."

A review of Giovanni by
-I have to admit, there are many good movies that Giovanni has been in that I really want to see yet have not. But the ones that I have seen have made me fall in love with him. He is probably one of the most underrated actors of the past decade. His brilliant performances in The Gift and Heaven made him one of my favorite actors, but his character acting in Flight of the Phoenix set it in stone: Giovanni Ribisi is my future husband. That's of course, after I divorce Johnny Depp.

07.22.05 Lots of News!
- In May '05 Giovanni attended the "Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival".

- A review of "Boiler Room" by by Ben Cosgrove (MTV):

Giovanni Ribisi is tremendous as Seth, a college dropout seeking quick riches and daddy's approval in this unflinching look at a group of despicable 20-something greedheads. Working in a shady Long Island brokerage firm, Seth and his newfound pals (Vin Diesel and a surprisingly effective Ben Affleck among them) make their money by cold-calling strangers and promising them huge returns on bogus investments. You might want to shower after watching it, but few con movies are as effective at showing how easy it can be to rip off people who want to believe in the quick, easy windfall.
- The Internet is chattering about casting options for the new "Hannibal" movie, with a core group of diehards pushing for Giovanni Ribisi to play young Hannibal, and rumors abounding that Anthony Hopkins will narrate

- "Lightfield's Home Videos" starring Juliette Lewis, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Giovanni is in the final stages of post production.

- Giovanni was scheduled to attend the Fan Screening of 'War of the Worlds' on 6/22/05 but I have yet to see pictures of him from this event.

- Creators of graffiti-based video game "Getting Up" chose Giovanni! The game's roster of voice talent will include Diddy, West, Rosario Dawson, Brittany Murphy, Giovanni Ribisi, the RZA, George Hamilton and comedians Andy Dick and Charlie Murphy.
A number of the actors who came in to do voice work showed some real gaming credentials, according to Wyse. "Sin City" star Dawson, who plays the girlfriend of the Vandals' leader, Gabe (voiced by rapper MC Serch), made sure to get some game time in during her session.
Doing her one better was "Boiler Room" actor Ribisi, who told Wyse he's so into games that he's started taking computer animation and programming classes. "Getting Up," which was developed by the Collective, hits the Xbox, PS2 and PC in the fall.

- Giovanni was scheduled to attend the Los Angeles Premiere of 'Hustle & Flow' on 7/20/05 but I have yet to see pictures of him from this event.

Giovanni will be attending the Independent Spirit Awards.

Giovanni will be in a new movie called "Lightfield's Home Videos". It is a compilation of videos shot with numerous celebrities over a 20-year period, the film takes a trip through the life of a fan creating his own movie making career. Seen through the view finder of an ambitious 12-year-old, it is a visual "love letter" to the movies, music and influences from 1982 to the present. This is a story of one man's passion to make a real movie, and along the way discovers he's been making one all along. In the spirit of Cameron Crowe's 'Almost Famous,' mixed with the documentary style of 'American Movie'

Hunter will play wife to Williams, a travel agent in Alaska who finds the frozen body of Woods in a dumpster and passes him off as his brother to get the insurance. Ribisi plays the insurance agent out to foil Williams' scheme. The indie film is set to start shooting April 12 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the Yukon. Giovanni next appears in "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow." He recently wrapped "The Flight of the Phoenix" opposite Dennis Quaid

Giovanni attended the Toronto Film Festival in Canada a few days ago to promote his new movie "I Love Your Work".
The film follows fictional movie star Gray Evans (Giovanni) through the disintegration of his marriage, his gradual mental breakdown, and his increasing obsession with a young film student who reminds Gray of his own life before becoming famous. A dark psychological drama, I Love Your Work explores the pressures of fame and the difference between getting what you want and wanting what you get.

Giovanni had been in talks to play Law's tech-savvy sidekick in "The World Of Tomorrow", but he's dropped out and has been replaced by Casey Affleck

Giovanni MAY be appearing in the movie "West Memphis Three".  However, Giovanni's role isn't quite clear, just that he's "supposed" to be in it.

The drama West Memphis Three is based on the controversial real-life case of three boys tried for a brutal murder in Arkansas. Michael Pitt and Jacob Reynolds star in the film written by Curt Johnson. The film will be produced by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky, who made the 1996 documentary Paradise Lost about the same case.

VARIETY reports Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jude Law will co-star in the sci-fi thriller THE WORLD OF TOMORROW. Set shortly before World War II, Jolie will play a pilot who teams up with a swashbuckling colleague (Law) and a journalist (Paltrow). Giovanni Ribisi and Bai Ling are also in talks to star.

7/25/01 Big Stars May Appear In Hollywood Exposé
A star-studded reading of the screenplay for David McClintock's Indecent Exposure took place at an annex of New York's Public Theatre Sunday the 22nd, New York Post columnist Neal Travis reported on the 24th. The book by the former Wall Street Journal reporter detailed one of Hollywood's most notorious scandals, which began in 1977 when actor Cliff Robertson revealed that Columbia Studios President David Begelman had cashed a $10,000 check made out by the studio to Robertson by forging the actor's endorsement. Sunday's script readers, according to Travis, included James Gandolfini, playing Begelman, and, in other roles, James Woods, Sigourney Weaver, Melanie Griffith, Stanley Tucci, Ron Silver, Bob Balaban, Julianna Margulies, Steve Buscemi, Giovanni Ribisi, Christine Baranski and Burt Young. Travis reported that the production has long been delayed because producers were forced to raise money outside of the studio system.

7/13/01 I was surfing around and ended up the personal site of Melissa from MTV's Real World New Orleans and this is what she had on her journal

"Before we get into anything else, how is it that Giovanni Ribisi was at Baja Fresh at the Beverly Connection today as I was eating my chicken quesadillas! I got to see him at Radiohead, and now at Baja Fresh! I had an anxiety attack, a little one. I didn't talk to him again! Damn! But I just love him! Giovanni Ribisi has crossed paths with me twice! Are you serious! YES! And I never use this many exclamation points."
